HTML5 may be the best thing since sliced bread, but some might argue it's not moving quite fast enough to keep up with the demands of the mobile market. APIs from W3C are slowly emerging, making it hard for pure HTML5 apps to take advantage of certain device functionality like high processor speeds, mobile cameras, accelerometers and even barometers. Meanwhile, clients and managers are bringing up HTML5 to developers, expecting them to get onboard, without fully understanding its limitations.

Sprint announced its "Place Your Ad" program this week, which will allow developers and publishers to bid on featured placement in its tab in the Android Market and its Sprint Zone app for its customers. This follows in the steps of other App Store providers like GetJar that use similar systems to sell their featured slots, but it also reinforces the need for developers to do their own marketing, rather than solely relying on app stores to do it for them.

The London Mobile Week!
30th September to 7th of October and now 8 mobile events!
Droidcon, Planet of the Apps, Over The Air, TechHub, Apps Junction, FrenchMobile, MMA, Sybase Enterprise Workshop...
As the organizers of Droidcon next week in London we realized that there was quite a lot of mobile events going on in London that week!
